Most Anticipated 2025

I don’t think I know my favorite game of 2025! The past few years, my top game of year has ended up being releases that were either not on my radar at all, or only on my radar shortly before they launched. So, while I have a HEFTY list of games I’ve been keeping an eye on, I’m also looking forward to the surprises that I know are in store and all the games I haven’t heard of that I’ll discover throughout the year.

That being said: there are a LOT of games I can’t wait to get my hands on this year. This list is a selection of some of the games on my radar (be sure to listen to the first episode of Geeks & Grounds this year to hear about some of them in more detail).

This list is in alphabetical order since many don’t have release dates quite yet ~ enjoy!

Blue Prince

Steam // Dogubomb, Raw Fury // Spring 2025

Just try to keep track of the shifting rooms and ever-changing halls of Mt. Holly Manor. After playing the demo of Blue Prince, I couldn’t get this game out of my mind. Imagine a house where the floor plan changes each day, and - as the heir to this mansion - you are tasked with reaching the fabled Room 46. This game blends rogue-like, board game, and escape room sensibilities, and while I can’t speak to the narrative quite yet, I am eager to see what intrigue they write up for us to dig into.

Big Walk

Steam // House House, Panic // 2025

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Steam //

Deltarune: Chapters 3 + 4

Steam // Toby Fox, Toby Fox // 2025

While this technically is just an addition to the already existing free chapters of the game, we DID get confirmation over the holidays that this is the year of Deltarune: Chapters 3 + 4, and I will personally hold Toby Fox to that (by asking very nicely and letting development take the time it needs😁).

The first two chapters have set up a premise that Undertale fans can REALLY sink their teeth into, and I’m looking forward to jumping into yet another Dark Fountaion to discover the secrets that lie within. Expect the story to get darker and continue to explore themes of escapism and identity with an incredibly charming cast of characters.

Demonschool

Steam // Necrosoft Games, Ysbryd Games // Q1 2025

despelote

Steam // Julian Cordero + Sebastian Valbuena, Panic // 2025

Earthblade

Steam //

Fable

Moth Kubit

It’s a bug’s life? Well, I guess even the bugs can’t avoid the life of a salary man:

Paralives

Steam //

Promise Mascot Agency

Steam // Kaizen Game Works Limited, Kaizen Game Works Limited // 2025

What if Yakuza…but outlandish mascots? Like, weird, creepy mascots — think a dismembered finger or a salaryman cat — that only the rarest of kids would want at their birthday party.

Promise Mascot Agency is the sophomore game from Kaizen Game Works (their first title, Paradise Killer, was a wonderful and weird open-world mystery game). As an exiled yakuza member, you must take on the role of running a mascot agency of misfits while also piecing together the mystery of what really happened to cause your downfall.

As a manager, you’ll get to know each mascot’s quirks. A cute cat with an…attraction to adult videos. A tofu who can’t stop crying. Each mascot has a unique personality, and you’ve got to use all the tricks of the trade (and then some) to get them to finish their gigs without causing major catastrophes.

It’s gonna be weird. It’s gonna be outlandish. I am SO here for it.
